Ambassadors of Jordan

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Out of our strong belief in the excellence of Jordanian higher education institutions and the quality of their graduates, and with the aim of highlighting the achievements of these graduates in various fields of life, the idea of launching (tamayyoz) the Platform of Excellence (Ambassadors of Jordan) was born, This platform aims to gather as much information and data as possible about these distinguished individuals, whether they are Jordanian students or from international students from different nationalities around the world.

Requirements

Requirements for joining the Excellence Family

The distinguished individual must be a graduate of one of Jordan's higher education institutions since the start of higher education sector in Jordan in 1962, regardless of nationality or degree level (intermediate diploma, bachelor's, master's, or Phd) .

The distinguished individual is required to provide supporting evidence of the excellence achieved in the field he/ she wishes to apply for.

This excellence should be continuous and sustainable, or be a starting point for achieving another excellence.

Excellence must be associated with the relevant areas of excellence mentioned, and not based solely on academic achievement.

The distinguished individuals agree to provide the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research with the necessary data and information and the right to use it on the Excellence Platform (You are the Ambassadors of Jordan).

Hoshyar Mahmud Mohammed Zebari

Former Iraqi Minister

Mr. Hoshyar Zebari was born in Akre, the Kurdistan region of Iraq in 1953. He studied in Mosul and then obtained a bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Jordan in 1976. Later, he earned a master's degree in Sociology and Development from the University of Essex in the UK in 1989. He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq from 2004 to 2014 and also held the position of Minister of Finance until September 2016.

Dr. Maszlee bin Malik

Former Malaysian Minister of Education

Dr. Maszlee bin Malik graduated from Al al-Bayt University with a bachelor's degree in the Islamic jurisprudence, and he is the only minister in the cabinet who can speak Arabic. He completed his master's degree in the same field at the University of Malaya in Malaysia and obtained his Ph.D. in Islamic political studies from Durham University in the UK. He was also awarded an honorary Ph.D. in Islamic Jurisprudence from Al al-Bayt University.

The Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education held a ceremony under the patronage of Minister Azmi Mahafzah to honor the top international students graduating from Jordanian universities for the 2023–2024 session. The event was organized in cooperation with the Jordan Tourism Board and attended by academic and diplomatic figures.

The International Students Affairs Unit at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has received the Armenian students accepted under the cultural exchange program at Jordanian universities for the academic year 2024/2025 at Queen Alia International Airport. The students were provided with the necessary arrangements and transported to their designated university housing.
